Fish, Steak Pizza & Prosecco!
On Monday Mo came to mine and cooked a really nice bit of salmon with veg and potatoes for tea, makes a change for it to be so healthy! Tuesday I had fish again, but at the Country Club, this time it was sea bass with crab and cauliflower salad and asparagus and was amazing as per usual. On Wednesday Tasha came to mine and I made a spaghetti bolognese and we booked the hotel for our holiday - so excited!
I babysat on Thursday and then on Friday went out to Manchester for a meal and drinks (see previous post). Yesterday I got up early and drove Mum and I to Leeds to see Jasmine as a belated Mother's Day present. We bought her a ticket to the theatre to see Pygmalion, and went to Ask in Headingley for lunch beforehand. We got the mixed Panzerottini (filled dough balls) and a sharing platter of meat, cheese and bread as a starter, and then for main I had the most amazing pizza type thing that was a rosemary and sea salt flat bread topped with steak, rocket, tomatoes and grana pardano. It was absolutely huge, and tasted phenomenal, the waitress recommended it and I'm glad I trusted her judgement!

We were really full, and pushed for time afterwards so skipped dessert and went straight to watch the play, which was really good (see next week's post), and then I drove back home and quickly got ready for a night out! Emily and Natasha came to mine for predrinks, and then we met my friend Amanda in Manchester and went to Neighbourhood. It was a really fun night, we were on the prosecco and the music was awesome, we stayed so late and got free shots!
Today I felt pretty ropey, I'd stayed at my parents so was in bed until lunchtime, then had a bacon and egg sandwich and was given a lift home. Mo came round and we've just had a much needed Chinese, though it took nearly an hour and a half to arrive, not the best on a hangover!
Trof, Hale Country Club, Cake Gallery & Gastronomy - a week of eating!

This week has been a really good one, Aum was back at school so I relished having my days free again, and I found plenty to keep myself occupied. On Monday I went into Manchester for lunch with Mo at Trof, which was really nice. I had broccoli and feta soup with sourdough bread which was off the specials menu, and was tasty. It was also good to do something a bit different whilst Aum was at school, and broke the day up by having something to look forward to.
On Tuesday I did a gym workout and swim, and had tea at the country club. I had a sort of deconstructed sushi dish called Kabachi - it was a bowl of diced raw salmon with avocado, sugar snap peas and chilli in a lime and sesame dressing. As it was so low calorie I treated myself to a dessert called Paris Mess, basically a variation on Eton Mess. It had broken macaroons, toasted almonds, caramel, chantilly cream and apricots in it and was amazing!

Wednesday was payday finally, so I filled my car up with petrol, bought my Parklife ticket, and paid to enter the triathlon I am competing in, as well as paying off various debts - it is gradually disappearing already! That evening I went to see Reel Big Fish with Mo, Dom and Kirsty (see previous post). On Thursday I met Hannah and Abi at the Cake Gallery for a catch up, where I had a pecan pie that was delicious, and totally took me back to my childhood when we used to have it all the time. Afterwards I did a 40 minute bike ride in the cinema room at the gym whilst watching Interview with a Vampire, and then had a fairly quiet evening.

On Friday I did a Body Combat class again which was fun, and then was told that I wasn't needed to pick Aum up, so spent the afternoon catching up with some reading and blogging. Mo came round in the evening, and we had pork meatballs with vegetable risotto for tea, and then had a few drinks and chilled out. We went out for lunch at Gastronomy on Saturday, which was really nice, I had a ham and cheese panini with chips, and Mo got a chorizo and cheese omelette. The weather was gorgeous so we sat in the garden for a while when we got back soaking up the rays, and then I got a lift to the airport to catch a train to Northampton to visit Geoff and see Timna.

I started on the gin as soon as I arrived, which coupled with a lack of any tea meant that I got ridiculously drunk and only just made it out of the taxi into town before falling over, so it was decided we would go back home. At least it was a cheap night! Today I journeyed home feeling very tired and sorry for myself, and then Mo came round for a Sunday roast and to officially 'meet the parents' haha. It went well, but I am so tired I will be glad when I can just collapse into bed!
Buck Rarebit, Bokwa & Booze!
This week was my first full one at home alone with Mum and Dad being in Trinidad, which has been good! On Monday I got a bit of a lie in before going to collect Aum from Pontefract, and I dropped him off and then went to the Trafford Centre for some phone chargers from the Apple shop (rip off!).
On Tuesday I tried the new gym out for the first time - amazing! I did a proper workout: run, weights, floorwork and then went for a swim whilst Aum had his lesson too. We ate at the restaurant, this time I had salmon with sweet potatoes and broccoli which was lovely, if a little small. On Wednesday I did a good class called Body Pump that really worked me hard, and then I went for lunch at Cafe Gourmand with Rick from uni who was nearby for the day. I had Buck Rarebit, which was basically normal Welsh Rarebit but with two poached eggs on top, served with salad with a really tasty zingy dressing, it was amazing! Rick then came with me to get Aum, which was a little weird but not bad, and then he drove home afterwards. In the evening my friend Mo came round and we just chilled out which was nice, was good to have some company in the house.

On Thursday I did a cool class called Bokwa (supposedly the new Zumba) where you moved in shapes of numbers and letters to music which was all really up-to-date, I loved it! The instructor had an amazing body as well, so here's hoping it does the trick. In the evening I didn't really do much, just sorted the house out properly for people coming to stay tomorrow and then caught an early night to stock up on sleep!
On Friday I went to a Body Sculpt class with the campest instructor ever! It was good fun though. After I had showered I went to Tesco on a booze run (£93's worth!) then had my nails done for the first time in a month before collecting Aum. It's so nice for them to be presentable again, I chose a lovely bright red as they are short so look better either dark shades or red. I popped in to see Abi for a cuppa and a homemade strawberry cupcake on the way home from work which was really nice, we had a proper catch up and I filled her in on all the gossip. I finished sorting out beds and stuff, and then went to collect Brian and Amanda from the met stop at around half 8. Geoff and Chris got stuck in a traffic jam, and Laura and Joe's train wasn't arriving until 11pm, so we started drinking late, but continued catching up until the early hours, when a few were slightly worse for wear!
