Weekly Update!

Stoke, Singing & Stalls!

Aum has been off school this week, so it has been a usual one of going out for lunches and doing fun stuff! On Tuesday we tried the Oxford Road Cafe (see previous post) and on Wednesday we went and played crazy golf at the Trafford Centre. Thursday we had a lazy day and a swim in the pool,and it was Diwali, so they gave me a box of Laduree macaroons as a present, which didn't last long! I babysat in the evening for one of Aum's old HPS school friends.

On Friday we went to Carluccio's for lunch with one of Aum's current school friends and his family. I opted for a salad, but it was still pretty naughty as it had blue cheese, walnuts and bacon on it! I finished work quite early and rushed home to pack for a night at one of my old uni friend's houses in Stoke with all the usual crew. We just stayed in as people were all arriving at different times, had a nice spaghetti bolognese and quite a lot to drink!

The next day we had traditional oatcakes for breakfast, which were amazing! Definitely something I will seek out again. Then after a lazy start we went bowling for something to do, which was actually pretty fun, I haven't been with anyone other than Aum in forever. I set off for home at about 3pm as that evening I was at a Katy B gig with Emily. We drove in, and then afterwards went for a couple in Piccolinos in Hale to meet up with the girls who were already out there.

I stayed at Mum and Dad's and today have been for a mooch at Altrincham Market with Jasmine and Mum which was cool; it has recently been renovated and is full on trendy market chic, with an artisan pizzeria, home ground coffee house and live music. We stayed there for a while, grabbed some food and looked at some of the stalls (which sold everything from art prints to fur coats, to jewellery made from cutlery and home baked brownies!) and came home early this evening for some tea. Great week of fun, socialising and eating!

Weekly Update!

Bowling, Barbecues & Bar Crawls!

It was back to work this week, but not so bad as it's the school holidays so I get to have fun with Aum, and his cousin was visiting from Singapore so I had two which always makes things easier. On Monday I took them bowling at the Trafford Centre. I was hopeless as usual, but seen as the boys had the bumpers up and used the ramp, I didn't have much hope anyway! We went to Costa for a drink and cake afterwards before I dropped them at their grandparents in Oldham. That evening Mo and I watched the last Harry Potter, who knows what we'll find to watch now!

On Tuesday I got a bit of a later start, as I didn't need to leave to collect the boys until half past 8. They were at tennis all day, but we went to the Country Club afterwards for Aum's swimming lesson so had dinner there - I had salt and pepper squid again with chunky chips, this time it was mainly tentacles instead of rings, and the batter was delicious!

On Wednesday I didn't do much, I had a free taster personal training session in the morning which was good, but she charges £50 an hour so I won't be keeping it up regularly!

On Thursday I had a surprise day off as Aum went to Liverpool with his Uncle and cousin, so Mum and I went to Ikea to get some ideas for my flat. I found lots I liked, but couldn't buy anything as I have nowhere to keep it until move in day, and don't know space sizes yet which is frustrating! In the evening we had a lovely barbecue, and Mo came round to join us. We had tomato sausages, lamb burgers, pork ribs and loads of salad bits - yum! 

Friday was a quiet affair, Mo came round and we just had a few drinks in the garden in the sunshine. On Saturday we went out for lunch (see previous post) and then in the evening we went for a couple in Sale at The Kings Ransom and The Steamhouse, which had live music. I wore a new pair of white with pale blue pinstripe trousers I got for a bargain from Matalan (£7.50) with my coral coloured crop top from H&M. 

Tasha and I got a met into town afterwards and went to Grand Pacific, Australasia's new bar in Spinningfields that is really swanky. It has a huge cocktail menu and a lovely outdoor area in a cruiseliner style with massive white leather seats, so we stayed for a while before moving on to Long Bar, a pop up joint for summer which does tasty cocktails for just £6. It is outside with deck chairs and a really relaxed vibe, so was a welcome newbie to the scene. We were going to try Neighbourhood but the queue was enormous, and Alchemist stops letting in at half twelve, so we just got a taxi home afterwards.

It was nice to wake up today without a hangover! Jasmine and I went into Manchester for a shop around Primark, I got a gorgeous statement necklace for £3 in the sale, as well as a black velvet patterned body that will look great on my holiday!

We met up with Mo and went to Costa for a drink, then had a Chinese buffet at this dodgy little place in Piccadilly Gardens, which was cheap but decent for lunch. Then we headed home and chilled out in the evening.

Weekly Update!

Gusto, Golf & Girly drinks!

This week definitely benefited from the day off on Monday for the bank holiday! I had a lie in and then met up with all the girls and Smeed for lunch at Gusto in Knutsford. I had baked avocado with scallops for starter, and then pasta primavera with chicken for main. Afterwards we went back to Hana's for coffee and chocolate cake, and then I worked at the pub in the evening.

On Tuesday I went to Chester Zoo (see previous post) and on Wednesday we had a lazy day doing various pre-school jobs (food shopping, getting a hair cut etc) and I had a night in after work.

On Thursday we went to the Trafford Centre and played bowling and crazy golf with Aum's friend Shaan and his sister Simran. I won one game of bowling, but lost the other horrifically! I came second in the crazy golf though which I'll accept. For lunch we went to Pizza Express, where I had the Bosca salad which was lovely - it had mushrooms, sunblush tomatoes, rocket and mozzarella in a balsamic dressing, and was served with dough sticks and a honey mustard dip. That evening I babysat until 10.30pm so went to bed when I got home.

On Friday I took Aum to Dunham Massey to go on his bike, and Hannah, Charlotte and Abi came too. We got tea and cake in the cafe which was delicious (I had cranberry and white chocolate sponge) and then Aum and I played some games in the afternoon.

In the evening I got my eyebrows tinted again and then Abi and I went for a few civilised drinks in Alty. Everyone out was about 17, and I had work the next day so we left before midnight - we were saving ourselves for Scarborough this weekend! (see next post)

Weekly Update!

Bowling, Packing and Mud!

This week has been really lovely, a good week to end on before I go off on holiday on Tuesday (so there will be no posts next week). I had a couple of articles to do for Candid, and worked at the pub as usual, so the start to the week was fairly quiet, except I booked a holiday to Tenerife on Monday. I also had my eyebrows threaded on Wednesday, which was a new experience. It was a lot more painful than I had anticipated, but the results were well worth it, even if they are a little thin for my liking.

On Thursday I went to the Museum of Science and Industry (see previous post) which was fun, and on Friday I took Aum and his cousin to the Trafford Centre to go bowling. Aum had never done it before, except on his Wii (!) so it was lovely seeing them do something a little different for once. We had lunch at McDonalds, and then I drove them both home. In the evening I went to Sam's house and got some work done, while he slept off quite a lot of alcohol!

On Saturday it was our three month anniversary, so after my shift at the pub (where I was delivered some gorgeous roses!) we went out for a meal at The Bulls Head in Mobberley. I started with the prawn and monkfish thermidor, which was delicious, and served so prettily in a large pink shell. For main I chose the manly homemade steak and ale pie with chunky chips and minted mushy peas. It was gorgeous, but the portion was massive so it defeated me, and I didn't have room for dessert, which was a shame as they sounded amazing! Sam opted for the mushrooms on toast followed by haddock and chips, which was equally humongous. We went for a few drinks in the Greyhound afterwards before heading home. 

Today has been a very packed day actually. I started off with a trip to the gym, before packing everything up ready for Benicassim on Tuesday. I then went round to Sam's and we had a lovely walk around Ashley, Hale Barns and the River Bollin, although it was rather muddy! Then I caught a quick drink in the Moss Trooper with Mike and Benn who I am going away with, before going back to Sams, where I am now. Bring on the sunshine and music of Beni!

Weekly Update!

Bowling, Brewdog & A Lazy Sunday!

This week has been a bit of a mixed bag really, I've had my nails done again, gymmed a lot ready for Beni and had a test drive in a Toyota Aygo which I loved. I was pretty nervous as I've never done one before, but once I'd got the hang of it, it was fine.

On Tuesday I went to the Trafford Centre with Charlotte and Emily as I wanted a bit of a mooch about. I only bought something small (see previous post on latest purchases!) but it was nice to get out of the house and catch up with the girls.

I went for a few drinks at The Greyhound on Thursday, and on Friday after a quick tea of pizza and garlic bread, Sam and I went bowling! Although I lost miserably it was really good fun and something a bit different to do which was good.

Yesterday after work we went out to celebrate my friend Smeed's birthday. We had predrinks at his house and then headed into Manchester to Brewdog bar and Venue nightclub afterwards. Smeed and Emily both got really drunk so we left at around 2am to escort them home - not that we were much better!

Today we had a lie in and then went to The American Bar for pancakes for breakfast. The food was great (Sam had the full English) but the service was pretty poor so I wouldn't rush back to be honest! This the evening we chilled out in front of the TV and had a lovely chicken casserole for tea made by Sam's mum. We popped out later for some chocolate biscuits and sweeties as a treat and I also bought a magazine to catch up on the showbiz world. I love Sundays!
